Dalyn Wade-Perry To Return To Notre Dame For June Visit

One of Notre Dame's top targets on the defensive line is planning to return to South Bend this summer for an unofficial visit.

Sparta (N.J.) Pope John XXIII three-star tackle Dalyn Wade-Perry told Rivals.com's Mike Farrell this past weekend at the Rivals Camp Series Presentes by Under Armour stop in New Jersey that he plans to be at Notre Dame for a an unofficial visit in June.

The news comes just a few days after the Irish had an assistant coach at Pope John XXIII to see the nation’s No. 20 ranked defensive tackle.

"They compare me to [former Notre Dame defensive lineman and Jacksonville Jaguars 4th round pick Sheldon Day] a lot," Wade-Perry said. "A lot of alum from my school have been alum there and [there's] a lot of comparisons from where I'm at to where that is and I just feel like it's a great place."

Wade-Perry was at Notre Dame this past season for the UMass game. He has also taken trips to Penn State, Ohio State, North Carolina and Duke, but the Irish appear to be battling Stanford for the 6-2, 326-pound tackle. Wade-Perry will visit Pal Alto for a Junior Day the weekend of May 21 and says that the Cardinal are a school that stands out early in the process.

"Whoever I go, football isn't going to last me a life time so I have to have the academic support," Wade-Perry said.

Notre Dame already holds a pledge on the defensive line from Pittsburgh Central Catholic's Kurt Hinish but is expected to add at least one more defensive tackle to the class after electing to pass on the position last cycle. Wade-Perry is considered a top target along with Las Vegas Ann Arbor four-star defensive tackle Greg Rogers, who was offered by Irish defensive line coach Keith Gilmore last month.
