Five-Star End Josh Kaindoh To Announce Decision Saturday

The nation's top ranked defensive end has pushed up his commitment date.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star defensive end Josh Kaindoh is set to announce a decision via Twitter on Saturday instead of making one on May 3 like planned, per Rivals.com's Adam Friedman.

Kaindoh, who is ranked as the nation's No. 1 weakside defensive end and No. 4 overall prospect, is expected to pick between Maryland, Notre Dame and Penn State. He named a top four two weeks ago that included Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan but had one notable omission in Maryland.

While many quickly jumped to the conclusion that Maryland was complete out of the race to land the Baltimore native, it should be noted that Kaindoh's father was in College Park meeting with the Terrapins' coaches the weekend of April 16 while Kaindoh was in South Bend for the annual Blue-Gold Game. Multiple contacts have stated that Maryland remains very much in the mix for Kaindoh following the visit even with the exclusion from the list of favorites.

The 6-5, 241-pound Kaindoh also holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Oregon, Florida State and USC. He was at Maryland March 28 for a visit and saw Penn State the following day. He also took a trip to Michigan in late November and was at Ohio State last June.
