Notre Dame's quest to reach the Final Four for the fourth time in five years will start with a home game Saturday night against Air Force.

The sixth-ranked Irish (10-3, 3-1 ACC) were awarded a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday after piecing together a regular season that saw head coach Kevin Corrigan's squad take down the likes of Duke, Syracuse and Maryland while navigating through one of the nation's most difficult schedules.

Notre Dame, which earned a national seed for the ninth time in program history, is led by the likes of junior goalie Shane Doss, senior defenseman Matt Landis and senior attackman Matt Kavanagh. The trio along with rookie attackman Ryder Garnsey and junior midfielder Sergio Perkovic helped Notre Dame post a 6-1 record at home this past season which in turn gives the Irish an advantage on paper heading into the first round game against Air Force.

The Falcons (15-2, 8-0 Southern Conference) opened the season with a pair of losses before winning 15 straight games and claiming a league title. The two schools scrimmaged prior to the start of the season inside the Loftus Sports Center with the Irish winning by an unofficial score of 15-11 after five quarters of play.

The winner of Saturday night's contest, which is set for 7:30 p.m. at Arlotta Stadium and will be televised on ESPNU, will fact the winner of No. 6 Marquette and North Carolina.
