Gurnee (Ill.) Warren Township sophomore wide receiver Micah Jones' breakout performance at the Irish Invasion has paid off.

The 2018 prospect landed an offer from Notre Dame on Thursday night after dominating this past weekend's invite-only camp.

He said that it's a bid that he has long wanted and one that puts Notre Dame right in the thick of his recruitment.

"It means a lot," Jones told Blue & Golf Illustrated. "My uncle loves it there, so it means alot to my family as well. It's a prestigious university and a great family atmosphere."

Jones, who is unranked by Rivals.com at the time, is already pegged as one of the top prospects in Illinois for the next recruiting cycle. He camped at Michigan State earlier this and earned an offer from the Spartans after impressing the coaches.

The rising junior also holds offers from Northwestern, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Iowa and Syracuse.

"[Notre Dame associate head coach Mike Denbrock] said that he just wanted to see if I could make plays, and I though I did just that," Jones said back on Sunday. "He said that he's going to be in touch with me later down the line and that the coaches were going to break down the film from the Irish Invasion and see where I'm at but I thought I did real good."
