Notre Dame has its man for the class of 2018.

Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine-Richland four-star quarterback Phil Jurkovec gave a verbal commitment to the Irish on Monday while in South Bend for an official visit.

He told Rivals.com's Adam Friedman that the decision to commit to Notre Dame was an easy one.

"I have really thought about it for a long time and it's not a rash decision. I have gone over all the different aspects that I want in a school and Notre Dame fits them all," Jurkovec said.

Jurkovec was also considering Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Clemson and Tennessee amongst other schools.

He told Blue & Gold Illustrated last week that the plan was to visit Notre Dame multiple times this summer before making a commitment, but his time on campus Monday with head coach Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Mike Sanford proved to be one of the deciding factors.

"I definitely have a lot of trust [in the coaches] they value what they have at Notre Dame and that played a large role," Jurkovec said.

Jurkovec becomes the fourth prospect from the Pittsburgh area to commit to the Irish in the past 10 months joining Rivals100 offensive tackle Josh Lugg, Rivals100 linebacker David Adams and three-star defensive tackle Kurt Hinish.

"I have talked to Josh Lugg a lot and he's tried to say me a lot," Jurkovec said.

"Josh does a good job of representing Notre Dame," Jurkovec's father, Jim, added.

The 6-5, 210-pound Jurkovec threw for 2,560 yards and 20 touchdowns this past season. He added 1,250 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground and has already accepted an invitation to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
