Rivals100 2018 Cornerback Houston Griffith Lists Irish As A Favorite

MORE: Full Irish Invasion Visitors List ($)

Chicago Mt. Carmel sophomore cornerback Houston Griffith appears to be favoring Notre Dame early in the recruiting process. At least that's what his comments from this past weekend suggest.

The Rivals100 2018 prospect listed the Irish twice in an interview at a Rivals Camp Series stop in Kansas City when asked by Rivals.com's Mike Farrell for a short list of schools.

"Notre Dame, Tennessee, Michigan State, Penn State and Notre Dame, oh did I say that?" Griffith said.

Griffith was in South Bend back in March for an unofficial visit. He arrived on campus without an offer from Notre Dame but left with a bid in hand after sitting down with head coach Brian Kelly and defensive backs coach Todd Lyght.

The 6-0, 185-pound Griffith told Farrell the the plan is to return to Notre Dame for the Irish Invasion on June 18 to work with Lyght again after competing at the invite-only event last summer as a freshman.

"Coach Todd Lyght, the new DB coach, he was in the NFL, he played collegiately, played on the highest level and I believe he can do a good job of teaching DBs and getting them to the next level," Griffith said.
