For the first time since 1994, Notre Dame has produced a top-10 NFL Draft selection.

Until offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley heard his name called Thursday evening as the No. 6 overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens, it had been 22 years since defensive tackle Bryant Young represented the Irish among the first 10 picks.

Stanley started for the Irish from 2013-15, with the latter two coming at left tackle as a replacement for Zack Martin, whom the Dallas Cowboys selected No. 16 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

For much of the nearly four-month period between the end of the 2015 season and the NFL Draft, former Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil was viewed by most as the top player at the position (and even overall by some) in this year’s class, but in the past couple weeks Stanley trended upward in mock drafts and, more importantly, in the minds of some front offices.

Stanley was expected to be a first-round pick in last year’s draft, but he opted to remain at Notre Dame for his senior season, a decision that has paid off.

Through Stanley’s selection, here are all the first-round selections produced during head coach Brian Kelly’s tenure, with receiver Will Fuller likely joining this list later in the first round.

2012

13- Michael Floyd, Arizona Cardinals

29- Harrison Smith, Minnesota Vikings

2013

21- Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals

2014

16- Zack Martin, Dallas Cowboys

• Notre Dame has now produced at least one pick in 79 NFL Drafts, with tight end Ben Koyack the lone Irish player off the board last year. No other college program has more than that 79.

• Stanley represents the seventh Irish offensive linemen to be drafted in the first round.
