From the time of his commitment to Notre Dame in late March, the recruitment process for Pittsburgh Central Catholic four-star linebacker David Adams has not been the same.

“Recruiting has slowed down a lot,” Adams said. Some schools still hit me up every once in a while, but other than that it has slowed down big time.”

The slowing down of his overall recruitment process probably isn’t something Adams is unhappy about. He’s had a busy summer off the field and said he is 100 percent committed to Notre Dame.

“The summer has been good so far,” the 6-foot-2, 225-pound Adams said. “I’ve been on the grind in the weight room and the field and then (I have been) hanging out with some friends.”

Adams is itching to get to Notre Dame and play for his new school and coaching staff including his lead recruiter Mike Elston.

“Notre Dame is the best place for me because of the outstanding academics and the top level football,” Adams said of why Notre Dame continues to be the right choice. “I have a great relationship with the coaching staff and cannot wait to play for them.”

Adams said Tennessee is the only school that talks to him most outside of Notre Dame. Adams is in communication with Notre Dame every couple of weeks.

He hasn’t taken any visits this summer and will only be taking visits, official and unofficial include, to South Bend. He is planning on visiting Notre Dame again sometime this summer or for one or two games this fall.

Like others in the Notre Dame 2017 class, Adams is “really trying to be active” on the recruiting trail and secure “the best players we can get.”

When asked if he would like to add anything else to the interview Adams said: “Go Irish. (Shout out) to all the loyal fans out there. You’re much appreciated.”

Adams is ranked as the 4th inside linebacker and the 113th player nationally in the 2017 class.
