Note Dame senior left tackle Mike McGlinchey and fifth-year senior defensive tackle Jarron Jones were named to the Outland Trophy watch list on Friday.

The Outland Trophy is presented to the nation's top lineman on offense or defense. The list includes 22 offensive tackles, 20 offensive guards, 17 defensive tackles and 11 centers.

Also on Friday, Notre Dame senior defensive end Isaac Rochell was one of 88 players named to the Bronco Nagurski Trophy preseason watch list. That award goes to the best defensive player in college football.

McGlinchey, a 6-foot-7, 310-pound senior from Philadelphia, moves from right tackle to left tackle. He started 13 games for the Irish last season and will be a key in the team's offensive attack. He is replacing Ronnie Stanley, who was taken sixth in the NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

Jones, meanwhile, missed the entire 2015 season after a freak MCL tear in practice. In 2014, he tied Sheldon Day for the most tackles by an Irish defensive lineman with 40 and tied for second on the team with 7.5 tackles for loss.

Of the 70 players to make the Outland watch list, 12 come from Southeastern Conference programs, the most of any league in the country. That’s followed by the Big Ten (11), Atlantic Coast Conference (10), Pac-12 (10), Big 12 (6), American Athletic (4), Conference USA (4), Independents (4), Mountain West (4), Mid-American (3) and Sun Belt (2).

A native of Mcdonough, Georgia, Rochell, was named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list this week as well. He finished fifth on the team with 63 tackles last fall.
