Notre Dame Perfect Fit For TE Commit Brock Wright

Notre Dame’s top recruit in the 2017 class so far is Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair four-star tight end Brock Wright.

The 6-foot-5, 238-pounder is ranked as the top tight end in the country and the 47th player overall. He is one of two Rivals100 prospects committed to Notre Dame (Robert Hainsey). So, losing Wright at any point until Signing Day would be a major loss for the Irish.

But, there are no worries on that front, according to Wright.

“If a school does recruit me I tell them thanks, but I am fully committed to Notre Dame,” Wright said. “My recruiting has stopped for the most part. I don't talk to any other schools anymore.”

Wright said he still receives letters from other schools, but he has no contact with them outside of receiving the letters.

Wright believes the fit between he and Notre Dame can’t get any better.

“I love the school and I believe in the coaching staff,” Wright said. “The academics and football are a perfect fit for me. On the field, I love the way Notre Dame uses the tight end. Off the field, I love the traditions and culture of the university.”

Wright said he is in contact with Notre Dame and his lead recruiter Scott Booker every few weeks.

“I have a good relationship with Coach Booker,” Wright said. “He's a great man and I can't wait to play for him.”

Like other Notre Dame commits in the class, Wright has not taken any visits to other schools and he plans to take only one official: Notre Dame.

Wright is a little bit active on the recruiting trail and said he talks to other recruits every now and then. But, for the most part he is letting things fall into place as they do. For now, he is gearing up for his final campaign at Cy-Fair.

“I'm just going to enjoy my last season at Cy-Fair and have as much fun as possible,” Wright said.
