Rivals100 Quarterback Phil Jurkovec Commits To Notre Dame
Brian Kelly and Mike Sanford have landed their next top quarterback.
Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine-Richland four-star quarterback Phil Jurkovec gave a verbal commitment to play for the Irish on Monday. Jurkovec, who is regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects in the class of 2018, was in town with his parents for an unofficial visit when he decided to end his recruitment and give a pledge to Kelly and Sanford.
“Notre Dame is a school that just has to be part of the decision," Jurkovec told Blue & Gold Illustrated back in March. "I like [Coach Sanford] — a lot."
The 6-5, 210-pound Jurkovec picked the Irish over Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson Penn State, Pittsburgh and a number of other top programs. He has already accepted an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl after throwing for 2,560 yards and 20 touchdowns this past season. He added 1,250 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground and is considered a top high schools basketball prospect.
