Measurables
• While rehabilitating from ACL surgery, did not participate in any combines the summer prior to his senior year. He attended the Irish Invasion held on Notre Dame's campus June 20, but did not take part in the testing. His 40 time is a self-reported 4.5.
Statistics
• Finished his career with 550 carries for 4,445 yards (8.1 yards per attempt and 153.3 yards per game) and 65 touchdowns. As a receiver, he caught 48 passes for 703 yards (14.6 yards per catch) and six scores.
• As a senior for a 7-4 team, rushed 209 times for 1,618 yards (7.7 yards per carry) and 27 touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 267 yards (15.7 yards per reception) and four scores.
• Carried 86 times for 738 yards (8.6 yards per rush) and 10 touchdowns as a junior before his season ended with an ACL tear that required surgery. He also caught 11 passes for 149 yards (13.5 yards per catch).
• Carried 255 times for 2,089 yards (8.2 yards per rush) and 28 touchdowns during a 10-2 season as a sophomore. He also caught 20 passes for 287 yards (14.4 yards per reception) and two touchdowns, returned his lone kickoff for a 96-yard TD and had two punt returns for 101 yards, highlighted by an 83-yard score.
Honors
• One of six running backs named to 2014 Pennsylvania Football Writers all-state team for Class AAAA, the highest division.
• One of 61 players in the state to receive the Mini Max Award - an offshoot of the Maxwell Award - which combines athletic, academic and community service.
Recruitment
• Visited Notre Dame on June 20, 2014, for the Irish Invasion and gave his verbal commitment 10 days later.
• Also considered Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers and Stanford.
• Took his lone official visit to Notre Dame for the Stanford game on Oct. 4, 2014.
• Primarily recruited by Irish recruiting coordinator/running backs coach Tony Alford and secondarily recruited by offensive line coach Harry Hiestand.
Notable
• Born on Oct. 29, 1996.
• Owns a 3.6 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and is looking to major in psychology, although he is keeping other options open.
• He is Notre Dame's first running back recruit from the state of Pennsylvania since Travis Thomas of Washington enrolled in 2003, although he ended up playing linebacker his senior year.
2015 Projection
• The opportunity for playing time at running back is high because there are only two scholarship backs returning to join 2015 juniors Tarean Folston and Greg Bryant. Unless slot backs Amir Carlisle or C.J. Prosise are used more in the backfield, either Adams or classmate Dexter Williams could move into that third back role.
They Said It
Rivals Mid-Atlantic recruiting analyst Adam Friedman: "He is really intriguing and plays better than his rankings. He is a really big back at 6-3 and 210, and he can be used in a H-back role. He is coming back from a knee injury last year, and he did pretty well this year.
"He is an upright runner with straight-line speed and is tough to bring down. He'll have to develop his vision a little bit. He is used to running around, over and through defensive players because of the competition he faced in high school.
"Once he is able to protect himself a little bit better and use his vision to pick up yards in tough spots, he can do really well for them. He is a guy that can definitely play better than his three-star ranking."
Prep Football Report's Tom Lemming: "He's got to prove himself. He missed his junior year with injury, and he had a good year this year. He's a good, steady back, not a super explosive guy, and he's got good size.
"He fits well for Notre Dame. He runs between the tackles and can get you the tough inside yards."
